| PURE TONE AUDIOMETRYPure tone audiometry (PTA) is the key hearing test used to identify hearing threshold levels of an individual, enabling determination of the degree, type and configuration of a hearing loss. Thus, providing the basis for diagnosis and management. PTA is a subjective, behavioural measurement of hearing threshold, as it relies on patient response to pure tone stimuli. Therefore, PTA is used on adults and children old enough to cooperate with the test procedure. PTA only measures minimum hearing intensity/loudness level across different frequency/pitch of sounds of individual ear. |
| SPEECH AUDIOMETRYSpeech audiometry is most important fundamental diagnostic tool for hearing-loss assessment and selection of hearing instruments. It will measure speech discrimination also called word recognition ability of individuals. meaning to say , your ability to understand speech at a comfortable listening level. Speech audiometry involves two different tests: One checks how loud speech needs to be for you to hear it. The other checks how clearly you can understand and distinguish different words when you hear them spoken. |
| IMPEDANCE AUDIOMETRY (TYMPANOMETRY)Tympanometry is an objective test, used to determine the condition of the middle ear and mobility of the eardrum (tympanic membrane) and middle ear tiny bones by creating variations of air pressure in the ear canal. This test is helpful in showing if there is an ear infection or fluid in the middle ear. This test is important because of ear pain , fluid, ear discharge, blockage, fullness in the middle ear can affect hearing sense. this test is very important for both adults and children for suspecting hearing loss. |
| BRAINSTEM EVOKED RESPONSE AUDIOMETRY (BERA)BERA is a otoneurological test that examines the inner ear, brain function in response to the sound stimulus. Only the testing and interpretation of the results is performed by the doctor of an audiology. The brainstem evoked response audiometry (BERA/ABR) is an objective neurophysiological diagnostic method for evaluation of the hearing threshold estimation and diagnosing retro cochlear lesions (auditory nerves). |
| OTO ACCOUSTIC EMISSIONS (OAE)OAE test measures hair cell function in the inner ear ( Cochlea). An emission refers to the sound generated within the normal cochlea of the ear in response to stimulation.These sounds can be used to test the function of the cochlea and other parts of the ear, including the auditory nerve. This hearing test is usually performed on newborn babies and special children to detect deafness. It can also be used on adults to test for hearing loss and detect other hearing disorders such as central auditory processing disorders (CAPD) or auditory neuropathy (AN). |

| Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT)Auditory-verbal therapy is a method for teaching deaf children to listen and speak using their residual hearing in addition to the constant use of amplification devices such as hearing aids, FM devices, and cochlear implants. Auditory-verbal therapy emphasizes speech and listening WITHOUT the use of sign language or lip reading. AVT Observations will include children at various stages of Auditory-Verbal development, including children utilizing both hearing aids and cochlear implants, within a variety of therapy activities and teaching styles. |
| Speech TherapySpeech therapy is an intervention service that focuses on improving a child's speech and abilities to understand and express language, including nonverbal language. Speech therapy helps child having speaking problem such as unclear speech, pronunciation difficulties ( Articulation disorders), stammering or stuttering (speaking fluency disorders), voice disorder like puberphonia, hoarseness of voice. so voice therapy refers to any non-surgical therapeutic techniques used to improve, modify or restore the patient's voice. Treatment of speech - language disorders does not mean medical treatment. It refers to rehabilitation, teaching, counseling or behavior modification. we provide all necessary therapeutic learning materials and teaching methods to parents and caretakers to make sure provide therapies (home based therapy) at home to help their child to learn to speak. |
